Knock, Knock!

Look! I’m standing at the door and knocking. If any hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to be with them, and will have dinner with them, and they will have dinner with me. -Revelations 3:20

Ok, let’s see.  I have to pay the mortgage, car note, student loans, groceries, medical bills and the kids’ tuitions for school. I’m already working two jobs and it’s still not enough. How am I going to handle all of this?

Knock, Knock!

Go away! I have things to do! So my mom just called. I have two sick uncles and an aunt fighting dementia. This is all in one family! What are we going to do? This is too much on her.

Knock, Knock!

Look whatever you are selling, I don’t want it!  Go away! I can’t find peace at home. I can’t find peace at work. No one listens to me. I don’t feel like I’m doing enough. Who can I turn to? Who’s willing to listen to me?

Knock, Knock!

Look, Guy! I’m going to call the police! Go away! I feel like my past is weighing me down. I feel empty and like there is something missing from my life. I haven’t been to church in a while. If I go back will they judge me on my past mistakes? What should I do?

Knock, Knock Knock!!!

That’s it I’m going to tell this guy off. Look I told you… to…  Wait a minute! It’s You. It’s really You! Jesus! What are you doing here? I wasn’t expecting you.  Come in!

Didn’t you hear me knocking? I heard that you have been having some issues. Do you want to talk about them with me? I’ve been watching you for a long time.  I can see that it’s a lot for you do alone.  I can see that you are hurting. I can see that you are trying.  That’s why I’ve been knocking. I’m glad you’ve allowed me to come in.  Let’s fellowship together and I will show you how to get through this. I will give you comfort and peace to weather these storms. You are never alone for I am with you always.

I can’t believe it. All I had to do was open the door. He was there all the time. Jesus, you are always welcome. From this day on, when you knock Lord, I will answer.
