C’mon Sunday

I rejoiced with those who said to me,
“Let’s go to the Lord’s house!” Psalms 122:1 CEB

C’mon Sunday.

Monday was madness and kind of rough

Tuesday was tough.

Wednesday was weary.

Thursday left me quite teary.

Friday was a flop.

Saturday finally I said, “Stop!”

C’mon Sunday.

So Sunday is here. What’s so good about it? Why all the cheer?

Sunday Everything My dear!

My suit is pressed. My shirt is crisp. My shoes have a splendid shine.

I better leave now if I want to get there by nine.

I grab my bible and Sunday school book and I’m out the door.

I’m so excited to be God’s house once more.

At the door, I was greeted with a smile.

I shook hands as I walked down the aisle.

The lesson was touching to the soul.

Now its Ten let us get this service on a roll.

The music was lively and lifted my spirits.

The preacher preached my soul happy. Y’all should’ve been here to hear it.

Sunday is my refuge. Sunday in my joy. Sunday is home.

When Sunday comes I’m never alone.

Sunday oh Sunday you are right on time.

One Sunday I was introduced to a friend of mine.

Who looked past my flaws and saw that I too can shine.

I found out He gave His life for mine.

That’s why this day, Sunday, is so divine.

Without you, I couldn’t make it through the week.

I’m looking forward to you coming again as we speak.

C’mon Sunday and may the feelings this day brings continue to dwell in my heart.

C’mon Sunday and give me my fresh start.

When we leave this place in the sweet by and by,

Every day will be Sunday in our home in the sky.
