The Missing Gift

The lights are up.

The inflatables are all plugged in.

The halls are all decked out.

The tree has all the ornaments and trimmings.

The house is filled music of the season.

The meal is all planned.

The stockings are hung and ready.

Soon the house will be filled with joy and laughter.

All of the gifts are wrapped perfectly.

Except the entire time of preparing somehow a gift was missing.

It was there even before the season began.

It was there in plan sight but no one even bothered to see it.

It costs nothing but it’s more valuable than all the riches in the world.

The gift keeps on giving day after day.

Some call Him Emmanuel.

Others say He is a Wonderful Councilor.

To Others He is the Prince of Peace.

However, many call Him Jesus.
