Alone but Not Alone

It’s funny how the world works.

We let society dictate how we should feel,

What we should wear,

What we should be doing by a certain age,

What we should eat or drink,

What house or car we should have to drive,

Then when we don’t get those things or reach those milestones we are

Depressed,

Anxious,

Self conscious,

Stressed,

Then we desperately seek comfort in something that can numb those feelings and vibes.

We feel isolated and alone.

Like no one could possibly understand what we are going through.

The truth is we may feel alone but we are never alone.

God is with us the entire time but we get distracted and disappointed by the things we can see.

He knows who we are.

He understands our flaws and weaknesses.

He sees our inner beauty like no one else can.

We are loved,

We are valued,

We don’t have to fit in a box,

We don’t have to live by someone else’s standards,

Our friend is with us all the way.

All we have to do is slow down and listen.
