Taking Up the Cross

www.bible.com/37/mrk.8.34.ceb

Lord I love you but you want me to leave all of it?

Yes, all of it.

This is gonna be hard.

I’ll be with you.

I know that but what will my friends think and my family?

You are now a part of a new family and if they really loved you, they will understand.

I’m scared and this burden seems heavy.

The road ahead will be tough. If you trust me, your reward will be great. The plans I have for you are far greater than your own.

Well since you were willing to give me everything on the cross, I’m willing to tell the world about your love for me.

Whatever takes, I’ll follow you. So where’s my cross?

You do know I was speaking figuratively right?

You will be faced with hard-times.

People will mock you.

They will reject your calling.

Some will even resent you.

There will be times where you don’t understand what is going on or why it happened.

Through it all I will be with you.

OK, Father I understand. I’m willing to carry this responsibility.

I trust  you.
