Oh Lord,
This Christmas I don’t want anything.
I want to see smiles on the faces of others.
I want hope to replace despair.
I want everyone who mourns to be comforted.
I pray that you wipe the tears of the eyes of those who are missing there loved ones because of this pandemic.
God, I pray that you send someone to meet the needs of someone that is a season of lack.
I pray that we reunite and overcome our differences in America.
I hope that empathy will return and that selfishness is eliminated.
Grant us the wisdom to embrace our differences.
Help us to see what unites us.
Help us to turn to you instead of ourselves.
I pray that the truth will soften our hearts and enlighten our minds.
I want bigotry and hate to die along with COVID.
I want the world to have a reason to smile again this holiday season.
May we find peace and joy in the gift you gave us oh so long ago.
A gift that was freely given to us all.
Help us share that gift with others so that we can truly experience the meaning of Christmas every day.
