Holiday Grief

It’s the holidays a season of joy sand cheer.
Some are sad because their loved ones are no longer here.
Instead of enjoying stockings hung with care.
All they noticed is the empty chair.
The chair was filled someone whose smile was so bright.
Now it’s quiet on this Christmas night
At times we are laughing and others we shed a tear.
Our love one is gone, they are no longer here.
Then we smile again when see that empty chair.
Because we remember the memories of the one who sat there.
We will see them again if the Good Lord allows.
Until we find way to cherish joy of the holy days some way and somehow.
